Description: Iowa expenditures data was obtained from the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board. The Board provides the file through the state open data portal under the title "Iowa Campaign Expenditures." The data is accessible as a tabular CSV file.
Each record is a single campaign expenditure made to an outside vendor for goods or services. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository. The data was last updated Dec. 16, 2022.
