Description: Texas expenditures data was obtained from the Texas Ethics Commission. Expenditures are spread across record-limited chronological files in the README file for more information. Data is available from 2000 on and has been updated through May 11, 2023.
Each record is a single campaign expenditure made to an outside vendor for goods or services. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
