Description: California expenditures data was obtained from the California Civic Data Coalition. Data is available from 2000 on and has been updated through Aug. 27, 2020.
Each record is a single campaign expenditure made to an outside vendor for goods or services. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
