Description: Maryland contributions data was obtained from the State Board of Elections. 28 individual files were downloaded by filing year and combined into a single file. Data is available from 2005 on and has been updated through January 2023.
Each record is a single campaign contribution made to a political campaign from an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
