Description: Data is from the Washington, D.C. State Board of Elections. The DC voter registration database can be requested from the Board of Elections by filling out the Data Request Form PDF and submitting it alongside a small fee, depending on the requested format. Data was requested by the Investigative Reporting Workshop and received on September 28, 2020. Each record represents a single voter currently registered in the District as of the time the file was requested. The full data set contains all original variables and new variables added with minimally, consistently, and confidently normalized character strings. These normalized strings are those searched from the Accountability database. Data was processed using R software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
