Collection: Money in politics
Description: New Jersey contributions data was obtained from the Election Law Enforcement Commission on their Quick Data Downloads page. The data is available in four separate files for each election or contributor type and includes contributions made since 1978 through 2015. Data is available from 1978 on and has been updated through 2015.
Each record is a single campaign contribution made to a political campaign from an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
