Collection: Money in politics
Description: West Virginia contributions data was obtained from the West Virginia Secretary of State Campaign Finance Reporting System. Bulk annual files are found on the Financial Disclosure portal's Download Data page. Data is available from 2016 on and has been updated through Sept. 2021.
Each record is a single campaign contribution made to a political campaign from an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
