Collection: Licenses
Description: New York attorneys are obtained from the New York state Unified Court System and managed by the Office of Court Administration on the state Open Data Portal. The data is pulled from most recent biennial registrations filed by New York state attorneys as of May 24, 2022. The dataset was made public on April 13, 2022 and is updated daily.
Each record is a single attorney listed in the biennial registrations, whether active or not. In this mapping, the date value is the date by which the attorney must next register. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
