Description: Rhode Island contributions data was obtained from the Board of Election's Campaign Finance Electronic Reporting & Tracking System (ERTS). The data is available through a search portal, where records were requested by each calendar year since 2002 and combined together.
Each record is a single campaign contribution made to a political campaign from an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
