Description: The list of registered businesses in Alaska are obtained from the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, which provides all license records online. The data is provided in a single text file which was downloaded on June 24, 2022 and includes active registrations dating back to the 1970's.
Each record is a single occupational or professional license issued to an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches.
Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
