Collection: Business Ownership
Description: Alaska corporations are obtained from the
Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, which provides all records online. The data is provided in a single text file which was downloaded on June 24, 2022 and includes active licenses dating back to the early 20th century.
Each record is a single occupational or professional license issued to an individual or business. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches.
Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
