Collection: Government Spending
Description: Michigan state contracts are obtained from the state's Department of Technology, Management & Budget on that Contract Connect website. Data contains only active contracts that have not expired as of Feb. 21, 2023 (the oldest of which dates back to 2002).
Each record is a single active contract between the state and outside vendors for goods or services. The full data files contain all original columns. New columns with normalized data are used for searches. Data processing was done using open-source software and is documented on the Accountability Project GitHub repository.
